In November 2017, Broadway in Cincinnati held a local contest encouraging local bakers to submit their best pie recipe that reflects the spirit of Jenna’s whimsical pies in the upcoming show WAITRESS.

Crust:
Use your favorite wrist recipe or a store bought pie crust
Filling:
1 pound fresh cranberries
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup + 1/3 cup water
Combine cranberries and 1/2 cup water. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer until berries start to pop. Stir in cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. Simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. In a separate cup, combine 1/3 cup water and 1/4 cup cornstarch. Gradually stir mixture into cranberries. Heat to boiling and stir for 1 minute. Pour mixture into pie crust and bake 35-40 minutes in 400 degree oven.
Garnish with whipped cream if desired.
