WAITRESS Pie Contest Winner: Peanut Butter Proposals Layered with Hot Fudge Lust Pie

In November 2017, Broadway in Cincinnati held a local contest encouraging local bakers to submit their best pie recipe that reflects the spirit of Jenna’s whimsical pies in the upcoming show WAITRESS.  

 

Peanut Butter Proposals Layered with Hot Fudge Lust Pie

CRUST
2 1/2 cups graham crackers, crushed
1/2 cup chopped peanuts
2 tablespoons sugar
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, melted
PEANUT BUTTER LAYER
4 oz. cream cheese
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup peanut butter
4 oz. Cool Whip
1 teaspoon vanilla
6 regular-size peanut butter cups, chopped
FUDGE LAYER
1/2 cup hot fudge sauce
TOPPING
8 oz. Cool Whip
4 oz. cream cheese
1/2 cup powdered sugar
GARNISH
Peanut Butter cups
Chopped peanuts
For the crust: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix crust ingredients together. Press into plate. Bake for 10 minutes. Cool completely.

For the peanut butter layer: Mix cream cheese and powdered sugar. Add Cool Whip, peanut butter, and vanilla to mixture. Fold in chopped peanut butter cups. Place mixture in cooled graham cracker crust.

For the fudge layer. Microwave hot fudge for 45 seconds. Smooth a thin layer of hot fudge over the peanut butter layer. Put in refrigerator to firm slightly.

For the topping: Mix topping ingredients. Spoon topping over hot fudge layer.
Garnish pie with 3 chopped regular-size peanut butter cups and 2 tablespoons chopped peanuts.

Refrigerate for at least 6 hours. ENJOY!
